LEADING ROLES

John as boy / 10-12 Year Old (White Male, Medium Height)

• Looking for a thoughtful, perhaps even serious kid with acting experience.

• He needs to look similar to his two older counterparts. 

• Should be comfortable walking in the forest, in the river etc.

John as young man / 21-30 YO (White Male, 5’11 to 6’2 tall)

***Our goal is to look for someone who can play both roles to save talent budget, but we will only take this route if the right folks are found***

• Should look similar to both his 10 YO and 50 YO counterparts. He will be playing both a 21 YO and a 30 YO so ideally he will be able to grow facial hair and be willing to cut it. 

• Should be relatively athletic.

• Acting experience is a big bonus, but not strictly necessary for this role. He needs to be comfortable being romantic with an actress. If he has a partner who also fits the role, great!

• Ideally he won’t be a traditionally attractive person. Maybe more like Emile Hirsch in “Into the Wild”. However, getting people that look alike is all-important so that takes precedence.

John as adult / 30 - 50 YO (White Male, Grey Hair, Beard is a bonus)

***Our goal is to look for someone who can play both roles to save talent budget, but we will only take this route if the right folks are found***

• Need someone with acting experience

• He can be slightly younger if he has grey hair. 

• Similar to his 10 YO counterpart, I’d like him to be a thoughtful, even serious person (or at least good at acting that way)

• Should be comfortable being romantic with an actress 

• Think an older Ewan McGregor with a beard

• Looking similar to the 20-30 YO is most important

Jane (Johns Wife) / 20-30 YO (White Female, Medium Height)

• Needs to be comfortable being romantic on screen

• Should be attractive

• Needs to be somewhat athletic - she should look comfortable jumping off rocks into the water, for example

• Jessica Chastain is a reference

• Needs to be able to put out a cool, hip vibe

Jane (Johns Wife) / 50 YO (Lead’s Wife) (White Female, Medium Height)

• Needs to be comfortable being romantic on screen

• Long grey hair would be fantastic 

• An older Jessica Chastain would be great.

• Overall, this isn’t all that crucial of a role, she just needs to be a good match for the Lead 

SUPPORTING ROLES

Rodger (Johns Father) / 40 YO (White Male, Grey Hair, Beard is a bonus)

• Acting experience is desirable. However, this is a small role so let’s not break the bank trying to get the perfect person. 

• He should be similar to the 50 YO lead

Susan (Johns Mother) / 40 YO (White Female, Grey Hair)

• Will only appear in about 2 shots. 

• No acting experience necessary. She just needs to look similar enough to the Lead to plausibly be his mother.

Jessica (Johns Daughter) / 10-12 YO (White Female, Medium Height)

• Again, acting experience is desirable. However, this is also a small role so let’s not break the bank trying to get the perfect person. 

• No special skills necessary

• Needs to look similar enough to the Lead that she could be his daughter
